Bass Trips

Spring Bass (mid March-May) numbers numbers numbers of fat smallies. Generally a jig bite, in a few specific locations

Summer Bass: top water! Covering water, faster moving baits, and aggressive fish. If your waiting for warmer weather now is the time. Trips are suggested to start at daylight or shortly after. Good time for smallies on the fly!

Early Fall Bass: fish are starting to school up again and anything is fair game, could be top water could be a jig bite and anything in between. Good time for smallies on the fly!

Fall Bass: fish are generally schooled up and catching big numbers again, jigs and jerk baits are normally weapons of choice and fish are packing on the weight again.

Late Fall/Winter Bass: river generally freezes mid December depending on the year. Fat smallies super slow jig fishing and deep jerk baits are normally king. Fish are schooled up.

Musky Adventures

Spring Musky: starting mid March, fish are normally shallow, "small" slow moving lures. Fish still have winter weight on. If you like the fly rod this can be a good time. Later spring slow top water lures can start to play.

Summer Musky: at 80 degree water temps musky trips will be shut down for the safety of the fish, generally early to mid July depending on the year. This is time to cover water, faster moving lures and top water will play. Crankbaits, rubber, and everything in-between. I suggest trips starting at daylight or shortly after.

Early Fall Musky: If I have to shut down fishing due to water temps they generally come down in September. Fish start pushing shallow again, still covering lots of water. All bait categories can plan this time of year. Fish are generally starting to pack on the pounds again.

Fall Musky: this is my personal favorite time to be on the water. Bite windows start to tighten up. Big rubber and big cranks start to dominate. Fish are getting heavy again! Eat your Wheaties before these days. Again this can be a good time for the fly rod.

Late Fall/Winter Musky: river generally starts to freeze mid December depending on the year. Bite windows are extremely tight but this is the time for a shot at a real giant. Big rubber, big crankbaits and jerkbaits fished slow and normally deep. This can be a good time for the fly rod.
